Fencing Match

Okay, so today was the first time I got to see a fencing match. It was really exciting as it was the semi-finals and it became really intense.
I wasn't really sure what was going on at first, but after a while I got the hang of it. First they fenced with the foil then the saber and finally the epee. The final score was 124-120. We lost by four points, but it was a great match to watch.
Here are some pictures.

So the girl on the left is ours and on the right is the opposing team. They were fencing with the epees
The girl on the left is actually the opposing team in this picture, she was left handed so they had to switch sides. I was told why, but it's something to do with the reffing.

Also same girls, both fencing epee, the girl on the left, Hannah was, someone correct me if I am wrong, but she was in the Olympics. That was pretty snazzy.
And of course, congrats to the winning team. Plymouth, we did our best.

Cheers!!

A Taste of England

Hi everyone!!!
So it's been a month since last I've seen my home. One month since I've seen my friends and family, but in this time, I have experienced so much. The city of Plymouth is not what I expected it to be when I arrived. I was expecting a quite small country side. This is what I got
It's quite quaint, and sometimes it's too quiet around here, until the weekend comes around. The uni is not as big as I thought it was going to be, but the classes are different and their system is different, but honestly I don't mind.
They have a volunteer program that I take part in and we have had a lot of fun roaming the English Countryside

Climbing Mt. Doom and making our way through the Dead Marshes.

And seeing castles
But we also do things for the animals, we've cleaned up a monkey sanctuary
 and saw monkeys.

In March, I'll be heading off to see the rest of Europe with another American, Alyssa, and two Brits, Sophie and Claire. We'll be doing that for 22 days and then it's back to the grind of college which for me, is 1 week and then I am free except for those deadlines I have to meet. I fly home sometime in May.

Don't be hasty!!
